Meet Jim & Kim

We are Jim and Kim Rhindress - a happily married couple who have been playing together since 2015 and are the songwriters of Rhindress.

Jim has been playing guitar and singing professionally since he was 15 years old and Kim has been playing the piano and singing in public since the age of five. We come from very different musical backgrounds – Jim’s, classic rock and Kim’s, classical and musical theatre but our love for music and each other has brought about a wonderful alchemy. 

 

We began writing our own songs in 2017 and now have more than 20 original tunes. Our first EP “My Heart Is Yours” and was released November 1, 2021 and our full-length 10 song album Cut Flowers was released September 1, 2022.

True Canadiana, our songs are based on our real-life experiences and the people we have met during our travels across Canada and the world. The songs we write cover a wide range of musical styles from ballads to country rock to comedy blues to east coast Celtic.

Lyrics and harmonies are important components of our songs. We also love a good laugh and have written some funny tunes about cellphone addiction, how to get out of speeding tickets  and even Kazoos as a sexy metaphor.

Our high energy live shows share the stories behind the songs and bring the audience with us on a journey of laughter, tears and discovery about what it is to be human.

When we play with a full band, we have some of the most talented musicians in the region: Cyril Schermann on bass has been nominated for a BCCMA award as best bassist in BC. Scott Evans on drums has played big stages for thousands of people throughout his career. Bob Silversides on keys has recorded and played with top Canadian and Los Angeles musicians for decades.
